Word Processing
1. Using
a word processor, type in the following text. The heading for each section (The
Committee, Seminar Format, etc.) should be on a line by itself, as shown.
2. Save the file, giving it a meaningful name.
3. Go to "The Committee" section and replace the name John James with your name and underline it.
4. Use Cut and Paste in the Edit menu to move the section on Potential Subjects (including the heading) so that it comes before the Seminar Format section.
5. Set the width of the top margin to 1.5 inches. Set the width of the left and right margins to 1.25 inches. The bottom margin should be 1 inch.
6. Italicize and underline the heading for each of the sections. Indent the first line of each paragraph 1/2" (use a tab setting).
7. Remove any blank lines between paragraphs. Fully justify the text (align on left and right margins) and change the line spacing so that the text is double spaced (Format menu, Paragraph command).
8. Insert the title "Continuing Technical Training Announcement" before the start of the first section. Boldface and center the title. There should be at least 1 blank line between the title and the heading for the first section.
9. Insert a header. On the left side of the top of the page place your name, section #, and the assignment #. On the right side of the header use the "insert a page number" button to add the page number.
10. Make sure the paragraphs and header are displayed using the Arial font in 12 pt size.
11. Save the revised version of the announcement. Use print preview to verify the format of your document. Proofread. Print the final version to hand in.
