In high school,  you might have had a rigid grade scale, such as 60% being
the minimum score for passing, and 90% for an A.

This is not high school.  I curve the grades.  In past semesters, more than
half of each class gets B or better.

I am aware that CS BS majors must earn at least a C to get credit for this
class toward the major.  Thus, a C- means you have to repeat the course, and
I will not give a grade below C unless the student really should repeat the
course.
